Cinco De Mayo Drinks

The time has come for another drinking holiday. What better holiday to try new drinks than Cinco De Mayo. Here are some ideas to get you started.

1. Michelada

2 oz. Tomato Juice or Bloody Mary Mix
1/2 oz. Lime Juice
3 Drops of Tabasco Sauce
12 oz. Beer

Pour tomato juice, bloody mary mix, lime juice and drops of tabasco sauce. Pour your favorite Mexican beer.


2.  Mexican Sea  Breeze 

2 oz. Tequila
Grapefruit Juice
Cranberry Juice

Pour tequila with ice and add equal amounts of grapefruit and cranberry juice.


3. Green Iguana Drink

1 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Melon Liqueur
1 oz. Sweet & Sour Mix

Pour all ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into glass.


4.  Cucaracha

2 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Coffee Liqueur

Pour tequila and coffee liqueur into glass.


5. Blue Agave

1 1/2 oz. Tequila
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
1/2 oz. Lime Juice

Pour all ingredients into glass with ice.

Mardi Gras Drinks

Top Mardi Gras drinks to try.

1. New Orleans Hurricane 

1/2 cup ice
2 fluid ounces light rum
2 fluid ounces passion fruit flavored syrup
1 cup lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 ounce lime juice
1 fluid ounce 151 proof rum

Mix all ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into glass. Float 151 proof on top.

2. Red Rooster

1 cup ice cubes
2 fluid ounces vodka
4 fluid ounces cranberry juice
1/2 fluid ounce orange juice

Fill glass with ice and pour vodka, cranberry juice and top with orange stir and enjoy.

3.  Bahama Mama

1/2 fluid ounce rum
1/2 fluid ounce coconut-flavored rum
1/2 fluid ounce grenadine syrup
1 fluid ounce orange juice
1 fluid ounce pineapple juice
1 cup crushed ice

Pour all ingredients in blender and blend until slushy.

4. Ramos Fizz

2 ounces gin
1 ounce cream
1 egg white
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce lime juice
2 teaspoons sugar, to taste
2-3 drops orange flower water

Pour everything except seltzer into shaker. Strain into collins glass and add an ounce of chilled seltzer.

5.  The Tiger Paw

1 fluid ounce Southern Comfort liqueur
1 fluid ounce pineapple juice
1 fluid ounce raspberry wine

Pour ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into martini glass. Garnish with pineapple.
